THE REV. CATHERINE CROOKS

The Rev. Catherine Crooks is a minister of the United Church of Canada and has served churches in Nova Scotia, Toronto and most recently Minneapolis at Lyndale United Church of Christ where she was a co-pastor for 10 years.

Before her ordination she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance and a Master of Divinity degree from Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She also has done graduate work at Emmanuel College on the campus of the Toronto School of Theology.

Catherine establishes an immediate rapport with people of all ages, an ability she credits to the rich intergenerational relationships in her Scottish clan. Stories, music and a deep regard for the holy woven throughout life’s path sustain her. She’s especially pleased to be at Plymouth because of her appreciation for the arts, especially the performing arts, which nurture her imagination and her soul.

Catherine shares her life with her husband, Peter Bailey, and her two step-children, Sydney and Jackson. The children, she says, are rounding out her life in delightful ways – like encouraging her to try no fewer than seven new sports – including rock climbing!
