THE REV. CATHERINE CROOKS

The Rev. Catherine Crooks is a minister of the United Church of Canada and has served churches in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia and Toronto, Ontario and, most recently, in Minneapolis at Lyndale United Church of Christ where she was a co-pastor for 10 years.

Before her ordination, Catherine earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance and a Master of Divinity degree from the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She also has done post-graduate work at Emmanuel College on the campus of the Toronto School of Theology. In recent years, Catherine has discovered a sustaining resonance with Celtic spirituality. She has also completed the first two levels of Healing Touch and understands the interplay of body, mind and spirit as being essential in one’s healing journey. Catherine is currently serving on the Board of the Westminster Counseling Center.

Catherine establishes an immediate rapport with people of all ages, an ability she credits to the rich intergenerational relationships in her Nova Scotian, MacLean-Crooks clan. Stories, music and a deep regard for the holy woven throughout life’s path sustain her. Time spent in the company of family and friends is her favourite thing of all.
