Pledge Prayers 2011

On Nov. 13, 2011, the congregation was asked to write a brief prayer for Plymouth Church or simply to jot a few words that come to mind when they think of Plymouth. Here is what they wrote.

“All are Welcome.” So few words, such a simple idea, such a profound commitment.

Blessed!! I love the knowledge I receive Biblically and it’s ok that I did not know it before and am still blessed!! Thank You and Bless Us All!

Plymouth is shelter from the storm. Plymouth is a way for all of us to be our best selves.

Gracious God, let us be for each other as You are for us.

Plymouth has been my second home since 1926. It is a warming, reverent, healing place where I always feel welcome, at home and blessed!

Spiritual community of love

Thank you, O God, for our children—their joy, energy, curiosity and spontaneity.

United in fellowship and mission

Caring and compassion. A great way to start the week

Intelligent Compassion

Give us the grace to really listen to one another as we change and grow in our service to God.

May we always be as open to the world as our history has revealed.

Thanks for empowering me to serve God and Plymouth community.

A dwelling place for us with the Spirit.

Plymouth is poetic. Faith is celebrated and nurtured with elegance. May our words be healing for all.

A healing and helping family

May Plymouth continue to embrace and express God’s spirit through the arts, fellowship and the pursuit of justice.

May we at Plymouth continue to honor all life choices and all the variously gifted.

May we dedicate our resources to doing the work of God in our community and beyond.

Hope—simply everlasting Hope.

A Loving Light-shining bright within, amongst, under, around, and above us All.

Inclusive, loving Progressive, socially active

I love this church! The beautiful music, the fellowship, the learning!

Plymouth is a place where families can worship together—at whatever level they are ready for.

May Plymouth grow and explore, know our deep past and challenge the future, and be moved by thought, emotion and spirit every Sunday morning.

I pray that Plymouth’s influence will grow at a time when its healing and justice are so needed.

Thank you for this loving, caring community!

I pray for unity, peace, strength, wisdom, compassion and hope as we pull together to overcome life’s challenges.

Thanks for honoring the belief that God loves all!

May Plymouth’s arms of love grow ever wider

I am so grateful for Plymouth and all the ministries—Each Sunday that I attend, I feel full to overflowing with blessings and joy.

May our hearts and minds be connected to the eternal—always

May our thoughts, words and actions—both individual and all together—be grounded in love and peace

Plymouth is a rock upon which I build my life, a rock that holds steady when life’s challenges bring uncertainty and fear

Oh God and Goddess of us all—Bless these pledges of our financial resources that they may grow in us as wisdom and service to all

Plymouth gives me food for my week; gives me courage and strength to do my work with disabled adults. I love the quiet time for prayer and a time to sing hymns

For the lives saved and needs served by the many resources and gifts of our members and friends

Thinking outside the Box

A healing refuge for body-mind-and soul

I am deeply grateful for the peace that comes to me in this place, and the challenges it prepares me to face as I am able

Mindful, generous, glorious, luminous, grateful, luster, questions, seeking, finding

Beauty, family, God’s presence, thoughtfulness, a contributing Community member, welcoming.

All ages being more than they’d be without Plymouth.

That Plymouth will speak to the needs of the next generation
