Global Connections

The Global Connections Committee is under the Board of Deacons and acts as a catalyst for increasing awareness and engagement of the Plymouth congregation with peoples, cultures and issues around the world.

The committee offers or connects the congregation with educational programs heightening humanitarian and social justice awareness, and creates or promotes opportunities to engage with peoples of other cultures, both from around the world and in our immediate neighborhoods.

Strategies include support and/or input for the work of Plymouth affiliated organizations such as Sunday Forum, Film Club, Cuba Connect, American Indian Initiative, OneVillage Partnership, and the Campbell Scholar. We are a part of the Minnesota Alliance of Peacemakers, and occasionally have requests for home hosting delegations from other countries who are in the Twin Cities for various programs.

Opportunities and programs will be featured on this website and will be the subject of articles in the Flame newsletter and Bulletin Announcements.

Members of Plymouth with ideas for other such interactions are welcomed, and should contact the Chair, Kathleen Laurila, 612/868-2003.
