Classes and Schedule

Our strength is that we’re a “covenant people.” As Congregationalists, Plymouth members aren’t expected to subscribe to a set of beliefs. To us the essence of the church is fellowship – a unity of spirit between member and member, and a unity of spirit between the church’s people and God. We don’t promise to believe, we promise to seek. We don’t value the church because it provides answers; we value the church because it’s a place where we can ask questions together. Our deepest joy comes from supporting each other on the journey.

Informational classes for people interested in membership consist of two sessions offered three times a year. Session I addresses the questions: “What does it mean to be a member at Plymouth?” and “What is the general direction and overall work of this church?” Session II offers an opportunity to get better acquainted with other prospective members. Individuals who decide to join the church are welcomed at a special brunch. New members are received into the community during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.

Contact Emily Venell, Membership Coordinator, in the Church Office if you’d like to attend the next series of new member classes. If you have questions regarding membership at Plymouth, you may contact Jeffrey Sartain, Minister for Parish Life. Emily and Jeff can be reached in the Church Office at 612/871-7400.
