Making & Using Prayer Beads

  • Saturday, Feb 10, 1:00–3:30 p.m.

Practitioners of many religions use beads, including rosaries and Buddhist malas, to support their prayer practices. Using prayer beads can help us focus our attention and bring more senses into our prayers. We will learn about prayer beads in the Christian tradition—various types, their histories, and how to use them in prayer—and make a set of our own. In the second half, we will practice praying with beads and conclude with a reflection discussion.

Registration: Register online by January 20, 2024, to guarantee your spot and to choose your main bead/charm. This registration deadline is strict due to the need to order materials. Any registrations after January 20th are not guaranteed and will not include bead choice.
