We act to seek a more just world

Since our founding in 1857, Plymouth has been committed to making the world a better place. From our early stance against slavery to our recent efforts to expand affordable housing, Plymouth members strive to improve our community, to deepen our spiritual lives and to express our love for one another and all of creation. This ministry of service in pursuit of justice is central to our life as a church.

Through such projects as Families Moving Forward, Habitat for Humanity, and volunteering at the nearby Whittier school, Plymouth members go into into the community to address pressing issues. In addition, the Strobel Drop-in Center at Plymouth Church and the Lydia Apartments Connections group build relationships with our neighbors in need.
