A Life in Climate Policy
Michael Noble will speak on a life in climate policy, with a special emphasis on how progress at the states remained steady, even though the power of money in politics thwarted meaningful federal action for 32 years, under 16 years of Republican presidents and 16 years of Democratic ones. He will describe the incredible game-changing momentum currently, as evidenced by the Inflation Reduction Act in Congress and the 100 Percent Clean Electricity Standard just signed by Governor Tim Walz.
Michael Noble, Executive Director of Fresh Energy, builds and catalyzes partnerships to secure new policies and harness market forces to achieve visionary change. Committed to building the clean energy community in the Midwest, Michael was a founding board member of environmental organizations.. He is a graduate of Carleton College with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He is stepping down from being executive director this spring to support generational change.
