Dear Ones,
The Board of Community Life, the Committee for Children, Youth and Families, the DeWayne Davis Welcoming Party, the Deacons, and the ministers invite you to REGISTER for and participate in an Easter Gathering on Holy Saturday, April 3, in the Plymouth Church Parking lot, from 1-3pm.
Here’s the plan –On April 3rd, 40 “spaces” will be available in the church parking lot to decorate with chalk—one household per parking space (a household might be 1 person, or it might be many—this event is NOT only for families). This is your time to be creative and beautify our space! At around 1:45, we will parade around the squares to view one another’s decorations, with opportunities to visit with the ministers, and receive treats, for adults and kids alike! There will be Easter bags for children and young people, and even some beautiful Easter Lilies you just might win!
If you aren’t able to sit on the ground to color with chalk, or don’t have an artistic bent, just come for the candy or the walk! All are welcome, but registration is required.
Parking will be available in the Park Nicollet lot, which is kitty corner from Plymouth across Franklin. Entrance into the lot is via LaSalle. There will be extremely limited parking spaces in our lot only for handicapped individuals.
Here’s what we need you to do!
• Register! We need to know how many people will be in attendance at this event– Click Here to Register:
• Put this event on your calendar! (Please note: this event is weather dependent. In the event of rain, the event will be cancelled. Any cancellation will be shared on our website and social media no later than 11am on Saturday. No news is good news)
• Plan what you want to chalk (we encourage you to bring your own chalk if you already have it at home, or we will have some available as well).
In accordance with our covenant to care for one another, all attendees must be masked and remain socially distant from one another (even if you’ve been vaccinated, there will be folx at the event who have not). The building will also be closed, and no food (other than our wrapped candy handouts) is allowed at the event.
Most importantly, we want to take this time to show support for our neighbors in the community and provide items that they need. Both The Groveland Emergency Food Shelf and the local organization Mothers and Children in Need are looking for Newborn, Size 1 and Size 5, 6 and larger diapers. There will be volunteers on hand to collect your diaper donations.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
We look forward to celebrating with you on Saturday, April 3rd!
Blessings,
Heidi McCallister, Renee Macomber, Nina Jonson, Tom Anderson, Annette Atkins
