How Can We Help Minneapolis Re-imagine Community Safety?

Re-imagining Community Safety (RICS) is a subteam of Plymouth’s Racial Justice Initiative.  Through RICS, Plymouth, as a faith community, is committed to leveraging our moral voice to help re-imagine community safety in our city after the murder of George Floyd. We have designed and hosted several presentations/discussions to educate ourselves and Plymouth.  We have developed a platform that we have shared with city leaders, including Mayor Frey and Dr Cedric Alexander, Commissioner of the new Minneapolis Office of Community Safety.

How does RICS see itself as being able to meaningfully contribute to community safety in Minneapolis in the context of racial justice?  What have we accomplished?  What are our plans for 2023?  How can you become more involved if you choose to?
