Ranked Choice Voting

Its Present and Future

Democracy experts cite ranked choice voting as one of the top reforms to strengthen our democracy, and it is used right here in Minnesota! You will learn what ranked choice voting (RCV) is and how it works, its many benefits, the experience of cities that currently use RCV, legislative progress and next steps for this promising reform.

Laura Calbone is a Community Outreach & Engagement Consultant for FairVote Minnesota, a nonpartisan nonprofit that educates and advocates in support of ranked-choice voting (RCV). Laura has educated voters about RCV for five years, and co-led the successful campaigns to bring RCV to Bloomington in 2020, and to defeat a repeal effort in Minnetonka last year. She is passionate about improving our political system and empowering voters.
