Talking Trash II
Our local trash expert will discuss general ways to reduce trash, specifically, back-yard and city-wide composting. She will discuss what we can do as residents and how businesses and apartment buildings are involved in composting and trash reduction.
Kellie Kish is the Recycling Coordinator for the City of Minneapolis. She’s held the position since April 2013. Her primary job duties include residential education on waste reduction, reuse, recycling, organics management. She leads the City’s Zero Waste program efforts, assisted in the development of the Green to Go and Bring Your Own Bag ordinances, oversees the City’s container rental program, and is responsible for enforcement of the City’s multi-unit recycling ordinance. Kellie also serves on the board of directors of the Minnesota Composting Council and participates in several local, state and national waste, recycling, and composting committees.
