Children, Youth and Families

Children have a very special place at Plymouth. We teach our young people Biblical stories through a progressive Christian lens. We emphasize the arts and social justice from a young age. The work and development of our young people are integrated into every part of building our church community.

As children grow up at Plymouth they move into the Youth Program, the youth of our congregation are actively living their spirituality, exploring relevant issues, and learning the history of the Christian faith. Our Children and Youth leadership develop and offer service activities, retreats, and camps to benefit our young people’s spiritual development and meet them, exactly where they are on their journey.

Church School!

We can’t wait to see your children at Church School on Sunday! Here is what you need to know:
Because we are starting with our classes outside, we will be combining age groups and having fewer separate classes.
Sparks, Flames, and Lights Classes will begin following the 9 a.m. worship service and will end by 10:50.
  • Sparks (ages 3-2nd grade) led by Hannah Faeth (look for a small tent near the playground)

  • Lights (grades 3-5) led by Dylan Church, assisted by Orison Piper (in the large tent)

  • Flames (grades 6-8) led by Heidi and Mike McCallister, Carrie Sauter, and Tim Brunelle (beyond the Pine Tree, near the electronic info sign)

  • Confirmation (grade 9) led by Seth Patterson (in the Courtyard)

  • Sunday Fire (grades 9-12, led by Nina Jonson) will meet from 11-11:40 beginning Sunday, September 26th (and will be in the Courtyard)

Please bring a mask, and please plan on using the few moments right after worship to take your child inside to use the restroom before class starts.
All programming will be held outside through October, weather permitting
Parents/guardians will be encouraged to bring a chair to socialize, attend Sunday Forum (wifi available), or volunteer with Sunday children’s programming (in a class other than their child’s) during the 10 a.m. hour.
