The Words and Worlds of the Prophets
Join DeWayne for a look at the words and worlds of three major prophets: Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. We explore the call and context of their work, including the oracles of deliverance and destruction that shaped Israel’s experience of exile and covenant with God, and what those prophetic utterances mean for our current understanding of faith, church, and discipleship in a secular age.
For Adults
This weekly scripture study, led by the Plymouth clergy team, invites participants to explore the Bible and other sacred texts, seeking together relevant lessons for contemporary living and understanding the story’s meaning in a deeper way. Discussion topics will vary, but each week could include an exploration of historical context, overarching themes, and narratives of the text, connections to current events, and scripture as a basis for spiritual growth. Facilitators will rotate every few weeks, but you are welcome to join any time for as many sessions as you like. Drop-ins are always welcome.
