SNAP benefits end Nov.1, our community needs our Support
On November 1, 440,000 Minnesotans will lose their SNAP and other food benefits, creating an even greater demand for Groveland Food Shelf to meet. Read more here.
This is also coming during the start of the holiday season and the colder winter months, making the timing of this even more critical and impactful for individuals and families that rely on these benefits and resources to meet their basic needs and provide safety and security for their households.
There are many reasons to donate to the Groveland Emergency Food Shelf. Not only are you helping families and individuals in need of food, but your contribution is also maximized to have the greatest possible impact.
Groveland’s supplier relationships mean that their grocery dollars go twice as far as yours, so please donate money rather than food.
- $35 buys 15 dozen eggs (which we give out in ½ doz units)
- $50 buys emergency groceries for a family of 2 for one month
- $100 buys emergency groceries for a family of 4 for one month
- $300 buys fresh meat for one day for all guests who want meat

If you are looking to do more and are interested in volunteering at the food shelf, they are currently looking for the following.
- Volunteer(s) for Tuesdays 3-6 pm (stock shelves, guest assistance) or Thursdays 11-2 pm (truck unloading).
- Short-term project support: Seeking persons with skills in either Financials, Human Resources, or Marketing/social media.
- Lead a food drive (especially needed May – Sept)
- Put on a fundraiser event (we’ll use the money you raise to buy food at a discount)
