Align
Align Minneapolis is an interfaith collaboration of 17 Minneapolis churches, synagogues, and mosques and people with lived experiences working together to address homelessness and poverty.
Align Minneapolis focuses on shifting from an immediate needs approach to long-term solutions through a combination of education, advocacy, and action.
Align Minneapolis is committed to engaging the community around us to address homelessness. Through learning, volunteer opportunities, community partnerships, community organizing, and the development of effective strategies and programs.
Align Minneapolis’s key priorities include support for Street Voices of Change, support for StreetSong Choir, congregational organizing, and providing direct emergency rental assistance to prevent homelessness.
As a Volunteer
Member congregations of Align Minneapolis participate in various ways, including direct service (providing service and meeting the immediate needs of our unhoused neighbors), congregational organizing and advocacy, and educating congregants on issues and solutions related to homelessness.
Plymouth Congregational was one of the founding congregations of Align Minneapolis, originally called Downtown Congregations to End Homelessness. Plymouth continues to be a vital member congregation for our interfaith collaboration and participates in Align MPLS’ Steering Committee and Direct Service Provider Team.
