CTF 2.0 Completes Its Work

The Campus Task Force 2.0 — which was chartered by the Deacons in February 2024 — has completed its work and is preparing a report that will be delivered to the Deacons by late August.

The CTF 2.0’s objective has been to become a visible catalyst of systemic change for those experiencing economic, environmental, social, and racial injustices in the neighborhood surrounding Plymouth and beyond. The group’s work has been aligned with and driven by Plymouth’s mission and Purposes while also incorporating aspects of Plymouth’s 2020 Plymouth Growth Plan.

Involving more than 150 members of the congregation in scheduled and informal conversations for the past year, the CTF 2.0 has concluded that now is the time for a sacred opportunity for transformation.  The report states that “Plymouth stands at a crossroads in a time of change not only within our congregation but also in the neighborhood and the broader world around us. As we’ve listened deeply in monthly conversations with members, one message is clear: This is not a time to retreat into comfort or habit. It is a time to move forward with courage, clarity, and faith.”

The report goes on to state that “Transformation asks us to stretch, to question long-held assumptions, and to lean into the unknown with trust. Our Plymouth community has shown, again and again, that we have the spiritual depth, relational strength, and moral imagination to meet this moment. We believe this moment is a sacred opportunity to become more fully the church we are called to be. That calling requires bold action rooted in reflection, collaboration grounded in purpose, and a willingness to listen — to one another, to our neighbors, and to the Spirit moving among us.”

Copies of the report will be available on the CTF 2.0 Page on Plymouth’s website and in Jones Commons in September. If you have questions about the CTF work and report, please contact Sonia Cairns at 612-819-0678.

Help keep our neighborhood clean! – Groveland Parking Lot Clean-up

Plymouth owns the Groveland Parking lot. Join other members to pick up trash in this lot on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 11:30 AM. All supplies and directions are available at the front desk in Jones Commons.

Perhaps we will integrate SSCO’s and Plymouth’s trash pick-up activities.

CTF 2.0 – May Conversation on Sunday, May 11

We invite you to join us for conversation, coffee, and treats, and hope to hear stories from some neighbors and one another about why this neighborhood is meaningful to each of us, who we are, and why we live, work, worship, or volunteer here.

We aim to be better neighbors and more engaged in the issues that matter to residents, organizations, and businesses in the neighborhoods surrounding Plymouth. We’ll also learn how we can participate in actions recommended by our neighbors. Please join us on May 11 at 10 am.
