Stewardship
Plymouth’s understanding of stewardship begins not with obligation but with abundance. We are a community that has been given much — a historic building, extraordinary music, gifted clergy, a congregation of depth and commitment, and a legacy of more than 165 years of faithful presence in this city. Stewardship is our response to that abundance.
Each fall, Plymouth conducts its Annual Appeal — an opportunity for members to make a pledge of financial support for the coming year. Your annual pledge is the foundation of Plymouth’s operating budget and makes possible everything from Sunday worship and pastoral care to children’s programming and justice work.
The Benevolence Fund
A portion of Plymouth’s annual giving goes directly to the Benevolence Fund, which provides direct financial assistance to individuals and families in need — members and neighbors alike. The Benevolence Fund is one of the most direct expressions of Plymouth’s covenant commitment to care for one another and the wider community.
If you would like to contribute to the benevolence fund, simply select "Benevolence Fund" from the drop down menu in Realm Connect under "Giving".
Embroidery Endowment
Plymouth's embroideries are among the most singular works of art in the building: two large-scale crewel panels on Irish linen, designed by illustrator Pauline Baynes and stitched by generations of Plymouth members over four decades. Because wool and linen are living materials, the panels rotate on and off the Guild Hall wall on a preservation schedule recommended by textile conservators, with rest periods between exhibitions.
The Embroidery Endowment ensures that care continues permanently. Gifts to the endowment fund conservation, safe storage, and the specialist expertise needed to keep the embroideries on view for future members and visitors.
If you would like to contribute to the embroidery endowment, simply select "Embroidery Endowment" from the drop down menu in Realm Connect under "Giving".
Third Sunday Meal
On the third Sunday of each month, Plymouth sets a free table open to anyone — member, neighbor, or stranger. No questions asked. Everyone is welcome.
If you would like to contribute to the Third Sunday Meal fund, simply select "3rd Sunday Meal" from the drop down menu in Realm Connect under "Giving".

Community Fund Offerings
During Christmas and Easter, Plymouth designates special offerings to two or three community organizations above and beyond our regular benevolence allocation. These Community Fund Offerings support economic, environmental, and social justice — advancing progressive faith in our community and around the world.
Watch for announcements during Advent and Easter for details on current recipients.
Make A Pledge
Plymouth uses Realm as its giving and database platform. Annual pledges and one-time gifts can be made online through Realm, by check, or by contacting the church office.
